Life-Bridge Child Care
Temporary ECE’s and Substitute Teachers Required
Life-Bridge Child Care is a non-profit, workplace, daycare centre located at 180 Simcoe Street near the Osgoode subway station. We have four groups - a group of 10 infants with 4 ECE’s, a group of 13 Toddlers with 3 ECE’s, a group of 16 Junior Preschoolers with 3 ECE’s and a group of 16 Senior Preschoolers and Junior Kindergarten children with 2 ECE’s.
The centre puts emphasis on providing an environment which is rich in positive and caring interactions thus providing a strong social and emotional environment. The method of behaviour management is supportive, helpful and encourages children to take responsibility for their own actions. Children are encouraged to express their feelings and needs, play cooperatively with their friends and to share with their friends thus encouraging problem solving and a positive and happy play environment.
The teachers at Life-Bridge are selected based on their professionalism, maturity, experience and ability to manage a group in a positive and well-organized manner, meeting each child’s individual needs. The teachers plan an age-appropriate curriculum following the lead of the children, incorporating their interests and development into the plans. They use the Emergent Curriculum with the use of a document entitled Early Learning for Every Child Toda (ELECT), an anti–bias approach and provide stimulating and varied activities which enhance the child’s ability to learn through play and exploration. Emphasis is put on the process and not the product.
We are always looking for high quality, temporary teachers and substitute teachers who are available on an on call basis. If you share the same philosophy described above, have training and experience working with young children and are available on a part time basis, on call, please contact:
